Porta Planning recently attended a research group commissioned by Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) at Arup’s offices on 29 April 2018.
Arup have been appointed by the RTPI to investigate the level of investment in public sector planning services across the North West and South East regions and how this relates to performance and delivery. The research primarily focuses on senior and managerial level planners however, this event was held to include the views of junior planners as they will shape and form the future of the profession. The research is intended to provide evidence to government on behalf of planning services to inform change at a national level.
Lewis McAulay and Edward James both shared their views on their experience on a variety of topics including the efficiency and effectiveness of how the Council operates, and expressed opinions on the positive and negative experiences that they have had in North West and South East regions.
