Port of Felixstowe

Berth 9 Yard, Felixstowe South Reconfiguration

We previously advised HPUK on their proposals to expand the port facilities at Felixstowe and have been a retained advisor for many years. This latest phase in the project involved amending the previous planning permission and associated legal agreement to enable HPUK to bring forward an additional container yard to increase operational capacity on the site commensurate with the expanded quay and much larger ships. The project involved complex discussions with a range of stakeholders to enable the works to take place without triggering S106 obligations foe this phase of the works.

Felixstowe was the UK’s first container terminal and now runs 33 daily freight train services from the port, distributing goods across the UK.
